Make it stand out.
The Doyen-
Drafted by Kevin Ross and Becky Wetzel, sewn by Becky from black faille and black velvet corduroy. Designed from the Judicial robes pattern in the Tudor Tailor.
In my research for this production I dived into the different lives of Royal doctors who served Louis XIV. I found that the use of these scholarly/judicial robes was common attire. We had three doctors in our production and to introduce variety I decided to give them rankings with the Doyen being the first doctor, the one closest to the royal family. The second doctor would be his protege but not yet at the full rank of the Doyen, and finally the third doctor I created to be an acolyte or doctor in training. This allowed me to add variety into their looks that created a sense of cohesion and also distinguishing them from one another.
